Taita Juanito Chindoy is a native son from the Indigenous Amazonian region of Putumayo, Colombia. He has been committed to sharing the teachings of his ancestors and the healing of humanity for nearly 20 years. “Taita”, which means, “guide”, or teacher”, is a title of reverence bestowed upon him by those who love him the most. Taita Juanito carries the medicines of love, compassion, and forgiveness. He is a traditional medicine doctor & botanist and we are grateful and humbled to carry his natural plant tinctures, healing lotions, and ambil. Hilaria and Felipe are guardians of the ancient traditions of handmade textile weavings from alpaca wool. “Chawaytiri”, the name of their pueblo (village) means “Eye of the Llama.” Their families have been caretakers and protectors of the llama for centuries. To them, the llama is life. The sacred alpaca animals literally provide their livelihood, and so they honor and revere these animals tremendously. Hilaria and Felipe are the sweetest, kindest people who pour their love and dedication for Pachamama into the making of their ceremonial art. Learn more about them by watching this video:

We are honored to partner with four Shipibo weavers, two grandmothers and two daughters. Florencia, Lucila, Robertina, & Lydia, along with their families, are guardians of the millennia old traditions of the Shipibo Weaving Cultures. They are keepers of the ancestral weavings & the icaros (or prayer chants) of their culture, which they embed into each of their tapestries in tremendous devotion to the plants.

For the Amazonian Wisdom Cultures, weaving is considered a pillar in the spiritual path. A pillar in the sense that it is a pathway to God. Through the art of weaving, Grandmothers pass on to their granddaughters (and sometimes their grandsons) the mysteries of the web of life, and the ancient art of utilizing the force of Creation to crystallize prayers into reality.

Nana Marina Cruz is a Mayan spiritual guide and healer of the Tz’utujil tradition. She is a ceremonial leader and initiate of the Cacao & Tobacco Plants. She is the daughter of world renowned teacher, Tata pedro & carries on her father’s lineage as a ceremonial leader of fire, tobacco, cacao and sweat lodge. We are honored to carry her powerful ceremonial grade cacao medicine and to support her collective of Guatemayan medicine makers and protectors of the ancestral cacao wisdom.

Jhon Freddy is a Guahibos healer, artist, & student of the yagé culture. Jhon’s fierce vision & authenticity inspires all who meet him. Jhon Freddy is not only one of our featured artists & botanists, he is also a dear brother & friend to us on the path. Over the past 15 years, Jhon has been dedicated to the art of the plant medicine culture, and sharing it with others. In the western world, he’d be considered a renaissance man. His art is an expression of his devotion to the Creator, his work is of the highest caliber & quality. We are honored to carry Jhon’s kuripes & tepis, necklaces, maracas, & coquindo oil.

Vivian Vanesa Garcia is the visionary behind Taller Aluna and the head of our feather fan arts collective. After living 5 years in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta and working with the Kogi, Arsarian and Kankuamo communities, drastic and very synchronistic changes transformed her life. In feather art she found the path of the northern tradition through the chichimeca warrior dance and the Native American Church ceremonies, which opened her memory of her yagé initiations at 16 years of age. Giving thanks to the Grandmothers and Grandfathers, she has walked the red road since 2001, hand in hand with the dance of the sun, the teepee, the the inipi (sweat lodge) and the vision quest ceremonies where she has received from her teachers some knowledge about weaving and art with feathers. Through research and empirical exploration through personal experiences, Vanesa creates art made in prayer. She created Taller Aluna Collective in 2006 where she teaches & manages a collective of about 5 other women, the majority of them young mother weavers. Taler Aluna produces our mambé spoons & jars, earrings, & of course, our feather fans.

Haru Kuntanawa, the leader of the Kuntanawa Nation is responsible for the revitalization of the cultural reemergence of his people over the last decade. He is recognized by many indigenous people of Brazil as one of the most influential young leaders of his time. His strong presence, compassionate heart and devotion to the ways of his ancestors helped restore the faith of his people and in many of the surrounding villages. Haru carries the vision of defending the traditional knowledge and protecting the sacred use of natural plant medicine. We are honored to carry many of his hapés, hapé applicators, & to have him present as an ally & a guardian in this initiative.

We are honored to be in partnership with the Yawanawa Tribe and their collective of artisans and medicine makers. The Yawanawa Peoples span over 200,000 hectares of land in the Amazonian region of Acre. They are strong people, known as the people of the Boar, and carry a medicine of fierce love and devotion to the Amazon Rainforest. They are guardians of the ancient cosmovision of their ancestors, preserved in their traditional wisdom and spirituality. We are honored to offer their handwoven jewelry and their high quality hapés. The Yawanawa Tribe is spread over 7 communities, and our art comes from a variety of their Art Collectives.

Visionary Artist of the Upper Amazon. “The plants and animals of the rainforest are my teachers”. Mauro is one of the most visible and sought after Peruvian visionary artists. Mauro draws inspiration for the vibrant and rich detailed cosmovision he portrays in his paintings from his own spiritual journey working with the Amazonian plant medicines. He is also a teacher and guide, and we are honored to support him through Four Visions Market. The purchase of his art directly funds his new ayahuasca healing center he is building in Peru.
